Join Woods & Waters Land Trust for an opportunity to learn more about the aggressive Autumn Olive Tree, a common invasive plant in the central Kentucky region. Volunteers will learn about the impacts of this plant, and how to properly manage it to better protect the health of other natural areas in the region. Hands on field experience will be offered.
No experience is necessary. Volunteers should wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and clothing appropriate for working outdoors. Please bring work gloves if you have them, be prepared for uneven terrain, and bring water. Volunteers will be provided lunch at the beginning of the event, and will get trained on how to use relevant tools before going out into the field.
In the case of rain, this event will be rescheduled for the following day, Sunday October 25th from 12-3pm. Participants will get an email reminder that will include weather updates and additional information before the day of the event.
