Farm Walk with WWLT--Pioneer Plants

Interested in wildflower folklore and historic medicinal uses of common plants? Want to know which plant was named for a Greek warrior? Join Heather Housman as we explore the forests and fields at West 6th Farm and learn more.

Heather is the board president of Woods & Waters Land Trust. WWLT works to protect the forests and streams of the lower Kentucky River watershed. Heather worked for several years as an ecologist traveling from the swamps of western Kentucky to the slopes of Pine Mountain in Eastern Kentucky with the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves. While at KNP, she also worked with private landowners to enhance habitat for critically endangered species.

This free walk will cap at 25 guests to create a fun and informative experience for all. Please wear appropriate shoes and attire for dirt, water, & mud. There will be walking and hiking on hills and rough terrain in the sun and the shade. Bringing a water bottle is encouraged. Children are allowed on this hike, if able to walk 2+ miles. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are OK. There is no beer included on this free Farm walk.
