Land Extravaganza--September 14
We're thrilled to host our ninth annual Land Extravaganza on the Kentucky River in Owen County! Hosts Ellen and Bernie Engelman own 128 acres at the end of Point of Rock Road in Monterey with beautiful views of the river valley. Their stunning location and unique home with access to the river make this year's Extravaganza a one-of-a-kind event.
Canoe Kentucky will be providing boat excursions on the Bourbon Boat at 4:30, 5, and 5:30pm, with a sunset tour at 7:30pm. Boats will fill on a first come, first serve basis, so reserve your tickets soon. Tours will last 25 minutes long and will be offered for an extra $10 on the ticket price, purchasable on this website. The boat holds 15 passengers. Please be at the Woods & Waters registration table 15 minutes prior to your tour.
Dinner features locally sourced food, including bread from Stone and Ember Bakery, salad from Cedar Ring Greens, pulled pork from Tommy Thompson, potatoes from Blackberry Heaven, other sides and a variety of desserts. A bar will not be available this year—beautiful Owen County is dry.
Entertainment by Owen County's own Downtown County Band will begin at 6pm.
Auctioneer extraordinaire Charlie Jones will once again be seeking the highest bidder for a variety of wonderful items and experiences, including a Elkhorn Creek canoe trip with Richard Taylor, art from local artists, and trees, plants, and books.
