Chris Schimmoeller

“I grew up outdoors,” says Chris Schimmoeller, past board president.  “The natural world has always made me happy and fulfilled, and every day I feel lucky to be able to work to protect this irreplaceably beautiful land where we live.”  A 1991 graduate of Georgetown College and a 1991-1992 Fulbright Scholar to India, Chris has worked on issues including national forest protection, regional water supply, smart growth, walkable communities, and comprehensive planning.  Chris and her husband Joel Dufour live with their daughters Natalie, age 16, and Sophie, age 12, in a house they built in northern Franklin County.

Chris is a founding board member and has served on the board since 2007.
