People have strong relationships with the land. Along the Kentucky River
they are tied to stunning cliffs that overlook the winding flow through
Frankfort, Swallowfield, and Gratz to the Ohio River. They are tied to
the green terraces and the rolling hills of the Elkhorn and Eagle creeks.
Many people love their land and want it to become a living legacy; they
wish to pass it to their family and ensure that it remains undeveloped
as woods and farmland. The Woods and Water Land Trust was created to provide
a way to help those interested in the long term protection of their land.
Another goal of the land trust is to contribute to the long term stability
of the Kentucky River system and the services that it provides to everyone
who lives here – services like clear air and water, and landscapes
that help keep property values stable and quality of life high. To learn
